The COSTA NOVA Industria Group traces its roots back to Grestel - Produtos Cerâmicos, established in 1998 and located in Vagos, Portugal. Grestel has been committed to crafting high-quality stoneware tableware, ovenware, and serving accessories for more than 25 years.

Today, the COSTA NOVA Industria Group has achieved global recognition as a leading Portuguese stoneware manufacturer, overseeing a portfolio of four factories (Grestel I, Grestel II, Grestel III, and the latest addition in 2023, Ecogres), and managing three distinguished brands – COSTA NOVA, Casafina by COSTA NOVA and Ecogres.

The company is also involved in Private Label, producing tableware for renowned international brands.

Its products are sold on all five continents and are showcased in some of the world's most prestigious stores and hotels. Between 85 and 90% of the production is intended for export, with the United States serving as the primary market.

GRESTEL

Grestel - Produtos Cerâmicos, S.A. is the Group’s main company, founded in 1998. Is a Portuguese company dedicated to manufacturing and designing tableware and accessories made of fine stoneware, in an original concept of quality, durability and exclusive design.

Our expertise relies on an outstanding knowledge of ceramic craftsmanship from the very beginning, combined with the best natural resources in Portugal and the latest technologies, using a unique formula at high-firing temperature.

Production began in temporary facilities with a small team of 12 employees. Today, the company has grown to over 1000 skilled technicians and artisans, all working with great dedication to create some of the finest stoneware products in the world.

Designed for both home use and the hospitality industry, Grestel’s fine stoneware products are known for their original design, high quality, durability, and sustainability.

ECOGRES

In 2023, to expand the production of Ecogres® and reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainability, the COSTA NOVA Industria Group inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the Mota Industrial Zone, Ílhavo, Aveiro (Portugal) – Ecogres - Cerâmica Ecológica, an eco-friendly production unit representing the forefront of innovation in the ceramics sector.

Exclusively dedicated to the production of recycled clay, Ecogres - Cerâmica Ecológica stands out by adopting a circular economy model, using over 95% recycled materials in its production. This unit is one of the most sustainable in the world, reflecting the Group’s ambition to lead the way towards more ecological and responsible ceramics.

COSTA NOVA USA

COSTA NOVA USA is the North American branch of the COSTA NOVA brand, acquired in 2017 as Casafina Living, a long-standing partner, with the goal of bringing Portugal’s fine stoneware products to the American and international markets.

Located in Brewster, NY, in a space that combines administrative offices, an outlet, and a warehouse, COSTA NOVA USA has a team of 20 employees and an efficient structure that allows it to serve both end consumers and hospitality professionals across the country.

COSTA NOVA ESPAÑA

As part of its growth strategy, COSTA NOVA ESPAÑA was created, strengthening the Group’s international expansion. Headquartered at the brand’s first store in Spain, on Lagasca Street in Madrid, the new subsidiary focuses on commercial management, driving brand development and business expansion in the Spanish market.
