COSTA NOVA Industria participated in the first edition of IGNITE Congress, held on 28 and 29 September in Castellón, Spain. An international meeting dedicated to the transformation of the ceramics industry, IGNITE gathers industry professionals, researchers, designers and other specialists to explore the technologies, materials and ideas shaping the future of ceramics.

Representing COSTA NOVA Industria, Jorge Carneiro, from our R&D Department, took part in the programme with the keynote “Industria Costa Nova: Ecogres as an example of sustainability and circularity in the ceramics industry”.

The presentation focused on ecogres, a ceramic material developed by COSTA NOVA Industria that incorporates ceramic surplus and by-products from local non-ceramic industries into its composition. Jorge shared the development behind this material and the industrial approach that makes it possible to bring circularity principles into ceramic production.
