Grestel announces return to work

Three weeks after announcing a reduction in its operations, Grestel S.A. has announced its return to work, with all production lines resuming as of Monday, April 20.

The company will return to normal operations while implementing a set of measures to ensure workplace safety, including:

  • Social distancing in transit areas (common access areas, meal breaks, etc.);
  • Mandatory use of masks or face shields and gloves within the facilities, including outside workstations;
  • Regular disinfection of cafeterias and changing rooms;
  • Random temperature checks or whenever deemed necessary;
  • Monitoring by the company’s medical team in situations of potential risk or suspected COVID-19 infection.

Miguel Casal, Chairman of the Board of Grestel S.A., highlighted that “the actions taken during this pandemic aim above all to protect the company’s operations and, consequently, ensure the maintenance of all jobs with full salary payments, as well as the fulfillment of commitments with suppliers and clients.”

The company, which operated under minimum services between March 30 and April 17, stated that “the decision to reopen its production units is supported by a portfolio of orders based on firm contracts.”

Miguel Casal also assured that “given the ongoing nature of COVID-19, the reopening will only take place once all safety conditions for employees are fully ensured.”
