Grestel, industrial unit of the COSTA NOVA Industria Group, honored with the “Industry of the Future” Award

Grestel, one of the industrial units of the COSTA NOVA Industria Group, received the “Industry of the Future” award yesterday, a distinction promoted by Floene, the largest gas distribution operator in Portugal. This award recognizes national companies that stand out for their contribution and commitment to the balanced decarbonization of their processes through the incorporation of renewable gases.

This distinction awarded to Grestel reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability – values that guide the entire Group – as well as the implementation of pioneering projects that translate these principles into tangible actions. Among them, the Ecogres® initiative and the first industrial firing of stoneware tableware using a kiln powered by a mixture of 50% natural gas and hydrogen, a groundbreaking achievement in Europe, stand out.

Jorge Carneiro, responsible for the R&D division, acknowledges this award as “recognition for the work carried out in the innovation of sustainable processes and products,” highlighting that “the use of renewable gases in industrial equipment has been tested and validated, ensuring that Grestel remains at the forefront of sustainable production.”
