Due to the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and following the declaration of a state of emergency in Portugal, GRESTEL has announced the decision to reduce its operations from March 30 to April 17.
This measure is part of efforts to contain the spread of the virus within the community and among employees, whose health and well-being are, and will always be, a priority for GRESTEL.
During this period, Grestel will ensure only minimum services, particularly in the commercial and logistics areas. These include maintaining B2B and B2C online channels, namely for the COSTA NOVA and CASAFINA brands, with significantly reduced production.
The measures also include bringing forward part of employees’ vacation during this period, in order to safeguard their safety and support the implemented contingency plans.
GRESTEL will continue to closely monitor the situation and follow the recommendations and legal requirements of the relevant authorities, taking further measures as necessary in response to new developments.
“The company exports to around 50 countries. We are in contact with our clients, who have requested some postponements and cancellations of orders, as well as delays in payments. They have also assured us of an order portfolio for the remainder of the year. If conditions allow, we expect to fully resume operations on April 20, with all 690 employees, and we will do everything possible to ensure the preservation of all jobs,” said Miguel Casal, Chairman of the Board.
